Concepts

Derived state

Derived state represents reasoning about canonical or otherwise authorized inputs.

04 §3.3 · Derived State · RSM Canonical Model & Protocol Specification

Specification-sourced: quoted from the governing specification, pending the applicable specification-owner approvals. The specification controls.

In RSMOne's words

Candidate Configurations, Gaps, Pathways, recommendations and Formation-readiness assessments are typical derived artifacts. A candidate grouping of mill, farms and lab may be saved and shared, yet it remains derived until a Commitment and Formation are accepted through the protocol.

What it is not

  • Derived state ≠ Canonical state

Derived state is computed interpretation, possibility or recommendation; computation alone never turns it into authoritative fact or commitment. 04 §3.3 · Derived State
