Metamind
The Metamind is the distributed cognitive architecture through which independently governed systems sense, understand, reason, coordinate authorized action, learn from evidence, and evolve.

In RSMOne's words
RSM expands to Regenerative Systems Metamind. The Metamind operates across all three planes (it perceives the Persistent Ecology, reasons about Outcome Formation and learns through Reality and Learning) without replacing them. It is not a central intelligence, a super-agent or a shared memory. Reasoning stays Derived until participants with authority commit, a DigitalAgent's capability confers no authority, and no participant surrenders custody of its own state.
Historical names. Until Concept Paper 2.1.0, RSM expanded to *Regenerative Systems Model*, and some earlier documents used *Regenerative Systems Map*. Both are historical. Where older text uses them for RSM as a whole, read Regenerative Systems Metamind; where it means the semantic foundation, read the [RSM Model](/concepts/model).
What it is not
Metamind ≠ Model
The Model is the semantic and computational representation of the ecology; the Metamind is the distributed cognition that reasons through it, and the Model alone does not constitute the Metamind. 01 §19.5 · Model, Map, and Metamind
Metamind ≠ Map
A Map is a projection or visualization of Model state; it is neither the Model nor the Metamind. 01 §19.5 · Model, Map, and Metamind
